What to Expect

In therapy, each person is viewed holistically; Mind, body, soul (emotions/personality) and spirit. For example negative thoughts may influence how the body feels. Each client is also viewed as responsible, valuable and active in their well being. 

The work may focus on the process learned in early relationships and how this potentially manifests in current relationships. Clients may wonder why they repeat the same negative patterns or why the same things push their buttons and cause them grief. Therapy unveils the source of these issues and the client then can make informed choices about their lives in the present.

Therapy is viewed as a co-creative process between therapist and client. Both therapist and client are working creatively together to improve the well being of the client. The aspiration is for clients to live more fully and freely in their lives.

Judy's Approach

As an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist, Judy draws from several theoretical approaches to accommodate the individual needs of the client. The integrative approach includes person centred, developmental, psycho-dynamic, psycho-synthesis, transactual analysis and cognitive behaviour therapy.

Judy’s personal style is mainly influenced by humanistic person centred approach. The goal is to create an accepting, non judgmental and confidential environment in which the client experiences trust and feels safe to explore their process or difficulties. 

All types of difficulties are accommodated including grief, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, rejection, self esteem, anger management, addiction, relationships, abuse, trauma, depression and stress.
